Statement on New Legislative Districts
Dear Friends,
Late yesterday the San Antonio federal court issued new interim maps for the Texas Senate. Although some changes were made, Senate District 9 remains a Republican district. I announced my plans to run for this seat in September and my plans have not changed: I will continue to aggressively pursue the Republican nomination for Texas Senate, District 9.
For months now, I have campaigned vigorously in this district, securing the support of many elected officials, as well as grassroots and business leaders in the many communities in the district. I am also proud to have received the endorsement of strong pro-business and conservative groups including Texans for Fiscal Responsibility, Conservative Republicans of Texas, Texas Right to Life PAC, Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC and Texas Association of Realtors. These conservative grassroots leaders and organizations know that I will go to Austin and fight for our families and businesses and will be a trusted ally in the Texas Senate.
The communities in Senate District 9 deserve strong leadership that will stand up for our interests, not those of Fort Worth or Dallas. I was born and raised here, went to school here, raised my family and worked here. And I will stand up and fight for our interests first.
As I said when I announced my intentions to run, I will work tirelessly to offer my candidacy to the people I have called my friends and neighbors my entire life. I will be the kind of Senator who more closely reflects your philosophy of less-intrusive, responsible government. Serving my friends and neighbors as their State Representative has been the honor of a lifetime. I hope to continue serving you in the Texas Senate.
Thank you,

Rodney Anderson
State Representative
